Each year the Emmett Lions Club provides vision screenings for elementary students in the Gem community. Last week club members spent two days conducting the vision exams at Carberry Elementary. Over 40 of the students received referrals for a more in depth eye exam. The ability to see well is recognized as a big factor in the learning ability of children.

Emmett Lions takes donations of eye glasses and frames on an ongoing basis as part of the service commitment to the community. The exams are provided at no cost to the students or the schools, utilizing some of the funds raised by the annual Show and Shine Car Show each summer that Emmett Lions sponsors.
