Tom Sisera, 32, was charged with robbery in connection with the theft of a donation bucket meant to help public school children get eyeglasses.

Police officers responded to a reported robbery at Dededo Pay-Less at around 2:16 p.m. Saturday, according to a complaint in the Superior Court of Guam. A man at the scene reported that he was standing in front of the supermarket entrance holding a donation bucket for the Lions Club when Sisera came up to him, grabbed the bucket, and, after a brief struggle, ran off with it.

Sisera, who matched the description provided by the reporting man, was found at the nearby ponding basin at the old Dededo flea market grounds. Clothes matching those worn by the man who stole the donation bucket were on the ground, and he was identified by the man who reported the robbery.

Officers observed Sisera, who was homeless, place a large amount of cash into the pocket of the shorts he was wearing, according to the complaint.

Sisera was charged with third-degree robbery as a third-degree felony.
