The global authority in superyachting

From October 26, some of the biggest names in the industry are set to gather for five days in Florida to showcase their latest masterpieces as part of the 2022 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). This year, more than 100,000 attendees and 1,000 boats will contribute to the show’s status as the largest in-water boat show in the world.

If you're heading to Miami from October 26 - 30 to get in on the action, here are just some of the key sections of the show to look out for.

Owned by the Marine Industries Association of South Florida (MIASF) and produced by Informa Markets, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show showcases more world and U.S. debuts than any other boat show in the country. To fit everything in, the show site currently spans 3,000,000 square feet across seven sites that are all conveniently connected by waterways and ground transportation services.

For starters, the Broward County Convention Center is where visitors will find the very best in boats, fishing gear and a live-action exhibition. Las Olas Marina, Hall of Fame Marina, Pier 66 Marina, Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina and Bahia Mar Yachting Center make up the rest of the site with products ranging from sunglasses to superyachts and everything in between.

The largest of the show fleet will be located at SuperYacht Village at Pier 66 South. So far, the line-up includes Heesen’s 50-metre Ocean Z and the Mangusta Oceano 50 who will be making her U.S. debut at FLIBS 2022 sitting alongside these brand-new yachts. Yachts by Burger Boat Company, Westport and CL Yachts are also expected to be in attendance.

The FLIBS is offering VIP ticket holders a tailor-made experience named the Windward VIP Experience. By offering premium access to the show, guests can expect visits to some of the most outstanding superyachts, a luxury tender taxi service, an open bar, food, and more. With Ketel One Botanical, Tanqueray, and Crown Royal involved in the show experiences, ticket holders will be treated to premium drinks, as well as early access to the show and a one-of-a-kind gift bag sponsored by Douglas Elliman. As a special treat, certain tickets grant access to a VIP classic cars evening with live entertainment, drinks, and hors d'Oeuvres at the Superyacht Village.

A big part of a day out is often where to go for lunch and try something new. For those who attend FLIBS, any mealtime is covered by one of the 100+ food concessions and bars that will be spread throughout the show. In addition to the complimentary wine tastings, foodies at the show will find stations such as Goslings’ Dark ‘N Stormy Island Bar and the Palm Harbor Marina Cocktail Barge.

In between refreshment breaks, visitors can choose one of the free educational seminars hosted inside the Broward County Convention Center. So far, the line-up includes some of the industry’s leading professionals such as Sheri Day and Manny Puig from The Blue Wild, Betty Bauman from Ladies Let’s Go Fishing, and the FWC Officers. Each seminar will cover something different that all the family can enjoy, such as conservation and fishing techniques, with all of the agenda suitable for children. For the little ones, there will also be fishing clinics, face painting, and marine arts and crafts.

The AquaZone area is an exciting and engaging attraction designed to give boat showgoers an upfront and personal experience with a variety of water sports and new marine products. Guests can expect to see and try out kit such as water bikes, kayaks, SeaBobs, surfboards, inflatables and try their luck in the Pedal Kayak Tug of War event.
